Michele Branning Candidate
for South Carolina House of Representatives
Currently, Michele is the President of the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) and Board Trustee for the Fort Mill School District.
Michele grew up in Indiana and relocated to Fort Mill/Tega Cay in 2007 with her family; because of the wonderful school system, the small town feel and the overall character of the thriving ccommunity.
Elected as a Fort Mill School Board Trustee, Michele has been serving since 2014. She is the chair of the policy committee, legislative liaison, former vice chairman twice, and has served on strategic planning committees since moving here. Michele is the President of the South Carolina School Board Association, formerly President-elect and Secretary/Treasurer, as well as former Region 13 Director which includes five school districts, York, Clover, Rock Hill, Fort Mill all in York Conty and Lancaster County School District. Achieving Boardmanship Institute Level 6 for the South Carolina School Boards Association, the highest level achievable within the association.
Michele’s been active in the Fort Mill School District for 17 years: co-founding Pleasant Knoll Elementary’s inaugural Parent Teacher Organization (PTO); she led the 2013 Bond Referendum as Co-Chair and has served on School Improvement Councils at her sons’ schools, as well as held numerous committee and board positions within all FMSD parent and booster organizations.
Living by the Rotary motto “service above self”, Branning served as President of Fort Mill Rotary and has been awarded ‘Rotarian of the Year” multiple times, a “Paul Harris Fellow +6” and having served as executive board member multiple times. Michele focused on highly successful monthly service projects and a fundraising event with a hugely positive impact for our community, country and world.
With her background as an entrepreneur, small business owner, and licensed Realtor with Keller Williams, Michele has a unique skillset that includes managing payroll and human resources requirements, development and implementation of effective budgets, and she’s known for providing unparallelled customer service. Michele’s priority is to ensure that our state government stays within its means – as a true conservative State Representative for the residents of District 66
